Beginning the Appalachian Trail

Three days hence I began something bigger than I knew. I started trail running on the AT (Appalachian Trail) I ran about 30 miles and met some interesting and inspiring people. My inspiration was tugged and through converstation and friendship I was able to let go fo some of the crazier thoughts in my head.

Yesterday I made a decision to hike/run from where I am here in GA all the way up to Virginia. This is a surprise to me but I am ready, with 35lbs in my pack, food, water and shelter I parked my van and walked away from it.

Today rain stalls me, and I at the same time found a way to communicate. I want to let you know, those of you curious and adventurous enough to click on a link and read it, that for the indefinite future my adventure is on a winding mountain path that makes its way from the Green Rollers in GA all the way up to Mt. Kitadyn in Maine. Since beginning the trail I have found many things and all the signs I see point to me, this is where I need to be.

It was tough leaving and even tougher taking a new adventure; I’m well attached to all the friendships I have back home, but I have stagnated and I need more, so here I will find it and I trust it will only strengthen friendships. I will keep this blog updated as much as I can, for I enjoy sharing adventure, I know it is not only my adventure but many’s.
