Initiative

Initiative is a decision. Often times we hem and haw over abundance of decisions. When we allow a plethora of options to confuse us it can be difficult to pick one ‘option’ and stick to it. This overload of options can make initiative taking seem difficult.
Initiative is a choice, and can be learned, nurtured and strengthened. The origin of initiate is ‘initium’ which means ‘beginning’ in latin. So as we decide to cultivate initiative we can look around and see the many options all as opportunities of initiative.
There area many things easily overlooked – doing so creates a habit which is antithetical to initiative. Some of the most common things overlooked are domestic. Is your sink clean, toilet scrubbed? Is your car clean and efficiently organized?
It is essential not to overlook details in the pursuit of larger initiatives. After all our lives are simply an assembly of smaller details. Look, wherever we are is the place to start. I think I’m going to go clean somethings up.
